The Za is a stool series thoughtfully imagined by Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. Fukasawa tapped into Emeco’s heritage in hand crafting recycled aluminium and leveraged its signature strength, lightweight, and sustainability. Emeco and Naoto Fukasawa together created a timeless collection that reflects their values and uncompromising standards – a seating family that is simple, versatile, and engineered to last.

“The Navy chair is one of the most identified icons in America. I had an image in my mind of a round stool, which could become a natural part of the Navy family, like a brother or sister.” – Naoto Fukasawa.

The name “Za,” means “a place to sit” in Japanese and refers to the designer’s desire to create a multi-functional piece of furniture that can be used in any setting, whether indoors and outdoors.
