Canteen table XL by Klauser and Carpenter for Very Good and Proper.

The Canteen range results from a commission that Very Good & Proper received to develop a cost-efficient table solution for the Canteen Baker Street restaurant in London. 

The Canteen table XL is quick and simple to put together and easy to dismantle and store. A key design feature of the elegant gravity cast aluminium leg is that it fixes directly to the tabletop eliminating the need for a bracing system.

Inspired by Ernest Race’s BA chair and the cast iron brackets that typically support Victorian cisterns, Klauser and Carpenter wanted to apply similar attention to detail to a relatively mundane object.
