Fun 10DM Pendant Lamp by Verner Panton for Verpan.

This jubilant pendant, designed by Verner Panton in 1964, displays a myriad of pearlescent discs that cast a delicate pattern of reflected light on surrounding surfaces.

Panton created the Fun collection when he tried to design a light that would cast a diffused light while making a statement in a colourful room. In his initial design, he utilised metal discs, but he swapped these out for mother-of-pearl discs after coming across the seashells on a beach in Malaysia.

In addition to providing light, the Fun 10DM creates a gentle crystalline sound when a soft draught stirs the hanging discs.
